The Reiki Share is open to anyone, those attuned to Reiki and those who would like to experience Reiki and find out more about it. There is a £3 charge to cover rent.

The shop can be found at the zebra crossing near the station end of Fisherton St on the right hand side. Please let yourself in, walk up the small passage at the right-hand side of the shop, through the wooden gate and the door is the first on the left.

The door closes at 19.40 so please make sure you are there in plenty of time. There is usually parking available free of charge in Salisbury. Please enter The Greenhouse from the side door

What is Reiki?

Reiki has developed from a system used by Mikao Usui who taught his students tools for Spiritual Enlightenment. As part of this process of personal growth which lasted months and years for many students, self healing was part of the beneficial results. From here, Reiki developed into a form of hands-on energy healing for others as well ouselves. Reiki, pronounced ‘Ray-Key’, is usually translated as the ‘Universal Life Force’ and is an ancient form of hands-on healing believed to have Buddhist origins, originating in Tibet. Reiki comes from the Divine Source of all ‘that is’ and is not a religion in itself. It is now used universally, in all religions and beliefs.

The Origins of Reiki

Reiki Origins

Dr Mikao Usui, a 19th century Japanese Theologian and Buddhist developed a Spiritual development process which included working with particular energies for self-healing and growth. This process was taught to many others and over time has developed to suit modern life and is now known all over the world generically as 'Reiki'.

Reiki works on the spiritual, mental and physical planes as well as the energy systems of the body, helping to realign congested areas such as meridians, chakras and elemental channels. Reiki was originally taught by Dr Usui as a life-long and life-changing system, a Spiritual path to enlightenment and complete self-healing.

During its Westernisation, Reiki has become more of a healing method given by a Reiki Practitioner to others. However, the Spiritual essence of Reiki is always there and can change your life quite dramatically for your greatest good, but you must be prepared for the possibility of such changes. There are some Reiki Practitioners who use it merely as another ‘string to their bow’, and can live with Reiki on a more shallow level, just skimming the surface. This does not fully embrace Reiki for what it truly is, but sometimes people just aren’t quite ready to dive head first into the Spiritual Pool. In this case, Reiki will be there when they are ready.

One full day or 2 half days followed by three 2 hourly tutorials each month. You will be expected to carry out some simple energy excercises and self-healing during this time and your certificate will be issued following completion of the course.

Reiki I connects you to the source of healing energy and is about learning to develop your sensitivity to Reiki and to begin to heal yourself and others. The focus of Reiki I is your own development and healing and the ability to channel healing to others is an added advantage. You recieve the Western attunements and also the Reju Empowerments which reflect the original Usui method of Reiki teaching.

After Reiki I you can channel energy to yourself, others, animals and plants. You can also channel energy through to food and drink to energize and purify it. You don't learn any of the symbols at level I, but can still send Reiki to others using intention.
