Indian Head Massage
Indian Head massage is a treatment originating from traditional Indian techniques which have been practiced in families for may thousands of years. It balances and harmonises the energy systems within the body, promoting relaxation and self-healing .
The Practitioner uses massage techniques to work on the energy meridians in the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face using a small amount of aromatherapy oil. You can ask not to have oil on your hair and face if you prefer, but you will lose some of the benefits of the oils.
Indian Head Massage is normally carried out on bare skin using oils, you will be seated in a massage chair with a towel around your body at chest height (trousers/skirts etc are left on). You can use a massage couch if this is more relaxing for you.
Indian Head Massage can also be done keeping your upper body clothed if you prefer, but it is not as relaxing and some of the benefits from the oils will be lost.
Benefits of Indian Head Massage include:

Relaxes and comforts, reducing stress
Strengthens the immune system
Improves the circulation of blood and lymph
Stimulates the release of the body’s natural pain-killers (endorphins)

Benefits of Reflexology
Reflexology cleanses the body of toxins and impurities which may block certain organs or systems in the body, resulting in dis-ease and illness. It stimulates the circulation of both blood and lymph which enhances the elimination of toxins.
Reflexology is especially good for musculoskeletal problems, such as backaches, digestive disorders, mentstrual problems, and problems due to poor lymph drainage.
Reflexology can help alleviate symptoms from heart and lung diseases and is also useful in treating strokes, and chronic conditions such as arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
Chronic conditions will need top-up sessions to maintain maximum results.
Psychological effects
Relaxation
Reflexology helps to reduce stress and induces deep relaxation. We all experience different kinds and levels of stress in our daily lives. Generally we all cope well with it, but it becomes a problem when we are unable to rationalise it or employ coping mechanisms to combat stress.
Revitalising energy
This could be said to be both psychological and physical. Reflexology can release blockages which will allow energy to flow freely through the body, revitalising in every way. Some will experience invigorating energy boosts, and others will feel the calming soothing flow of serene energy.
Mental Alertness
With increased mental alertness, we are more receptive and creative, stimulating an increase in personal productivity, our ability to achieve our best in all aspects of our lives.
